While food often acts as a wonderful catalyst for bringing people together, for Cade and me, the true essence of our dining room isn’t about the meal itself, but about the profound human connections forged around the table. This space was intentionally designed to facilitate those moments, making it a sanctuary for people, conversations, and shared experiences.
The Perfect White: A Custom Sherwin-Williams Creation
Achieving the right ambiance began with selecting the perfect paint color – a decision that felt anything but simple! We discovered our ideal shade through Sherwin-Williams, a brand we’re admittedly quite obsessed with. In fact, if you’ve seen our Office Reveal, you’ll know we have another beloved white from them in our home. Their palette offers incredible versatility, allowing us to find distinct yet harmonious whites for different spaces.
For our dining room, Sherwin-Williams custom-created a specific white shade for us, affectionately dubbed our “white paint of the year.” The compliments we receive on this color are endless! While it’s technically a lack of color, its subtle nuances make it exceptionally beautiful. This particular white imbues the room with a soft, quiet serenity that enhances rather than distracts from other design elements. We searched extensively, visiting countless stores and browsing endless online catalogs, yet nothing felt quite right, nothing truly resonated with our vision of a familial gathering space. Then, one evening, during a spontaneous date night, we wandered into Four Chairs Furniture. It was an instant victory! There, we discovered the most exquisite round dining table.
Frankly, I had never even considered a round table before. My mind was firmly set on traditional long, rectangular dining tables.
