Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds Flank Steak
  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Chives, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Balsamic Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Mix all marinade ingredients together in a large dish or a sealed bag.
  2. Add the flank steak and marinate covered in the refrigerator overnight or at least all day.
  3. Heat the gas grill to high. Remove steak from marinade and sear 2 minutes per side. Turn down to medium and continue cooking 7โ€“10 minutes more, flipping halfway, until internal temperature reaches 130ยฐF for medium-rare (use a meat thermometer). Remove and let rest tented with foil.
  4. Meanwhile, reserve half of the remaining marinade. Bring it to a simmer in a saucepan for 10 minutes to use as sauce.
  5. Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the reduced sauce if desired.

Notes

Flank steak benefits from proper cooking โ€” overcooking can make it tough. Store leftovers 3โ€“4 days in the refrigerator.
